This is a recording of my poem “Nothing, Nowhere, Nobody.” The original post is here.
If we are experts in a certain field,
And don’t accept new thoughts within our mind,
Then our beliefs become a solid shield
That blocks all foreign thoughts and leaves us blind.
If latitude and longitude define
The place in which we live upon this sphere,
Then time and space together will combine
To limit when and where we can appear.
If face and body are essential things,
And character and name define us too,
Then we won’t really know what freedom brings,
Or recognize the self that we once knew.
The right to boundless freedom we’ll reclaim
When we relinquish dogma, place, and name.
