A Bitter Sea

This poem is an adapted rondel about energy and renewal.

We’re living in a bitter sea,
A sea where waves and pulses spew,
A sea that we cannot yet view,
A sea composed of energy.

The waves will crash and men will flee;
All that will stand will be the true;
We’re living in a bitter sea,
A sea where waves and pulses spew.

There soon will be a jubilee
That’s celebrated by the few;
The ego’s crimes they will undo,
And love and laughter will be free;
They’ll live within a blessed sea,
A sea of joy and all things new.

The whole earth is at rest and is quiet;
They break forth into shouts of joy.
(Isaiah 14:7, NASB)
