A Poet Named Alan

This limerick is completely fictional, since I don’t drink at all. However, when rhyming my name, I had only two real rhymes to work with: “gallon” and “talon.”

On the net is a poet named Alan
Who imbibes his red wine by the gallon
All the critics call junk
What he writes when he’s drunk
In the morning, he’s grumpy and scowlin’
