The Upward Call

This poem is a parallel sonnet about three realms.

Within a realm called heaven, love is all;
It is with utter joy and bliss they dwell,
And those who are in heaven send the call
To those who think they’ve lost their soul in hell.

There is a place called hell where ghosts attack
Each other for eternities and more;
They’re so afraid to look at what they lack,
And they don’t even know what they abhor.

There is a place where light and darkness mix;
This place called earth is where we learn to live,
Where we abandon all our lies and tricks,
And learn how we can finally forgive.

Though heaven cannot be disturbed at all,
And hell is where the evil spirits fall,
The earth is where we heed the upward call.
